LG upbeat on OLEDs, to have products soon

LG seems to be going forward with OLED displays. An LG spokesperson said that OLEDs will be adopted widely. Meanwhile LG plans new OLED products soon, and OLED TVs (32") by the end of the year. They are also working on products based on flexible OLEDs. This will be interesting to see.



Philips launches OLED lighting products

The big news this month is Philips' OLED lighting products. It is now possible to order OLED panels online - in different shapes and sizes. Philips are still on track to release these commercially at 2010.

Philips have shown nice OLED lamp prototypes. See the photos here and here. They also released interesting video of the lamps, and of the OLED "wall".



OLED-Info news

We have added a new section at OLED-Info, OLED projects. We aim to list all OLED projects, currently these are mainly European project, focusing on OLED lighting.

We have also released a new OLED-technology article, which should be an interesting introduction into OLEDs.

You might be also interested to read our interview and updates from Universal Display, one of the leading OLED research/IP companies. UDC are rather upbeat on OLEDs, and have recently said that "virtually ALL AMOLEDs on the market use their technology".

Finally, we have a winner of the Kodak OLED photo frame contest. Hopefully he'll soon send us some nice photos of his new 7.6" OLED frame...
