Samsung pushes small OLED mobile displays |
It seems like Samsung is really pushing their small OLED mobile displays. They keep introducing new gadgets using OLEDs. This month we've seen 3
new mobile phones, and the TL320 digital camera. One of the phones, the Omnia HD is using a 3.7" AMOLED, the largest
OLED display on a phone yet. These OLEDs are no longer just in high-end devices - some of the mobile phones are mid-range.
Samsung say they will double their OLED capacity in 2009, and again in 2010. They also see OLED TVs (or laptop displays) in 2009, and flexibel displays in 2010, which will be a nice surprise. |

How much will you pay for an OLED laptop? |
We have published our first poll: How much will you pay extra for an OLED laptop?.
57% of the people said they will be willing to pay
100$-250$ extra for an OLED display. Currently it seems this is not enough, but it's clear that the extra battery life, the thinner display and the beautiful picture quality will be able to pull a large price premium.
