eMagin reports its Q3 2022 preliminary financial results
OLED microdisplay maker eMagin reported its preliminary financial results for Q3 2022, with revenues in the range of $7.4 to $7.6 million, an increase of 28%-31% from last year.

eMagin says it sees strong demand in the military market, increased revenue from medical customers and also increased R&D contract revenues.
The MicroLED Industry Association welcomes new members, including LG Electronics
The MicroLED Industry Association is happy to welcome new members to the association, including LG Electronics and Comptek Solutions. LG and Comptek are the latest member to join the newly formed association, to help advance the microLED industry and related technologies.

The MicroLED Industry Association was established to help accelerate the adoption of microLED display technologies. The new association brings together leading companies and organizations active in the MicroLED industry and provides an ideal forum for solving common technology issues, fostering cooperation and sharing relevant information, resources and tools. The association will also work to promote its member companies, their technologies and products.
OTI Lumionics raises $55 from Samsung, LG and UDC to bring its cathode patterning materials to market
Canada-based OTI Lumionics have raised $55 million in its latest round. This round included several strategic and financical backers - including LG Technology Ventures, Samsung Ventures, UDC Ventures, Anzu Partners and more.

OTI says it is close to commercialization of its technology and materials, but the company is still some years before this will reach products. Towards the end of 2022 OTI started shipping its 2nd-gen ConducTorr Cathode Patterning Materials (CPM) to customers, but perhaps these were only sample shipments. OTI materials are used to create OLED displays with under-the-display camera and face unlock technologies.
LG Display reports a loss in Q3 2022, as demand for OLED panels is dropping
LG Display reported its financial results for Q3 2022 - with a net loss of 774 billion Won (around $540 million USD) and a decrease of 6.3% in its revenues.

LGD says that demand for its panels is low - and in fact the company says that demand for premium OLED panels is dropping at an "unprecedented level" - especially in Europe. The market for OLED TVs is especially low.
New OLED gadget: Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 / 12 Pro / 12 Pro+ / 12 Explorer
Xiaomi's Redmi Note 12 smartphone features a 6.67" 120Hz 1080x2400 AMOLED display (produced by SDC). Other features include a Qualcomm SM4375 Snapdragon 4 Gen-1 chipset, 128/256 GB of storage, 4/6/8 GB of RAM and a dual camera setup.

The Redmi Note 12 family also includes the Note 12 Pro, the Note 12 Pro+ and the note 12 Eplorer - which all use a similar display (but one that seems to be made by a different producer).
The Redmi Note 12 smartphones will ship in early November 2022.
Samsung reports its Q3 2022 financial results
Samsung Electronics reported its financial results for Q3 2022, with its highest quarterly revenue ever (76.78 trillion Won, or $54 billion USD) and an operating profit of 10.85 trillion won ($7.7 billion USD), down 23% from the previous quarter.

Samsung Display saw record revenues (9.39 trillion Won) as demand increased for its OLED mobile panel business following the release of new flagship smartphones. The company expects to see continued strong demand for premium OLED displays.
New OLED gadget: Xiaomi Book Air 13
Xiaomi's Book Air 13 laptop offers a 13.3" 2880x1800 16:10 AMOLED display with DC dimming (rather than PWM), Intel's latest generation i5 or i7 chipsets, 16G of LPDDR5 memory and a 512GB SSD drive. The whole laptop is 12mm thick and weighs 1.2 Kg.

Xiaomi did not yet discloe the price or availability of its latest OLED laptop.
Researchers from Shenzhen University designed efficient selenium-integrated TADF OLED emitters
Researchers from China's Shenzhen University are working towards efficient selenium-integrated TADF OLED emitters.
The researchers latest work detailed the structure-activity relationship between heavy atom effects and multiple resonance TADF performance. The researchers say that their new emitters effectively solve some of the issues inherent in TADF emission technology, specifically the sharp drop in emission at high brightness, what is called the emission roll-off.
