Samsung announces the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 foldable phones, and new wearables
Samsung announced two new foldable phones, and new wearable devices. First up is the Galaxy Z Fold4 which sports a 7.6" foldable 120Hz 1200 nits 1812x2176 Dynamic AMOLED and a 6.2" 120Hz 904x2316 AMOLED 2X cover display.

The Galaxy Z Flip4 , the company's clamshell device,features a 6.7-inch 120Hz 1200nits 1080x2640 foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and a small secondary 1.9" 260x512 Super AMOLED display. Both phones will ship on August 25, starting at $2,000 for the Fold4 and $1200 for the Flip4.
LG demonstrates a 97" OLED.EX panel with Crystal Sound OLED
LG Display demonstrated a new 97" OLED.EX panel, that features the company's Crystal Sound OLED (CSO) technology which turns the whole panel into a high-end speaker.

LG launched its OLED.EX technology in December 2021. These WOLED panels combine new deuterium compounds and personalized algorithms to improve the image quality and increase brightness by up to 30%. EX is an acronym of Evolution and eXperience.
eMagin reports its financial results for Q2 2022
OLED microdisplay maker eMagin reported its financial results for Q2 2022, with revenues of $7.2 million (up 14% from Q2 2021). The company's net loss was $1.4 million. At the end of the quarter, eMagin had $4.3 million in cash and equivalents. The company's backlog is $14.3 million.

eMagin says that it achieved increased sales of displays in both the defense sector (mainly the ENVG-B program) and also to the veterinary and surgical markets.
New OLED gadget: Motorola Moto Razr 2022
Motorola's Moto Razr 2022 is a foldable clamshell smartphone that features a 6.7" 144Hz 1080x2400 foldable P-OLED (LGD) display and a secondary 2.7" 573x800 rigid OLED display (LGD as well). Other specifications include a Snapdragon SM8475 chipset, 8/12 GB of RAM, 128/256/512 GB of storage and a dual camera setup.

The Razr 2022 will ship by the end of August 2022, starting at around $890.
LGD to start producing 20" OLEDs by the end of 2022, will also unveil a 77" transparent OLED
LG Display's VP Kang Won-Seok says that the company is working on several new panels and technologies, which it plans to announce soon.
First up is a 20-inch OLED, for applications in personal devices. This panel will be demonstrated before the end of the year. It is not clear whether LGD will adopt its WOLED technology or its RGB technology for such panels.
New OLED gadget: Motorola Moto S30 Pro / X30 Pro
Motorola's Moto S30 Pro offers a 6.55" 144Hz 1080x2400 OLED display (made by LGD), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset, 8/12 GB of RAM, 128/256/512 GB of storage and a triple camera setup. The Moto X30 Pro offers a similar display and stronger specifications.

The S30 Pro is now shipping starting at around $340.
Samsung and LG demonstrate their latest OLED displays at K-Display 2022
Last week Seoul hosted the K-Display 2022 exhibition, Korea's largest display industry event, and both Samsung and LG demonstrated their latest display innovations.
In the video above, you can see LG's 97" OLED.EX CSO panel and its 55" transparent OLED panels. Samsung was showing its latest foldable OLED panels (that can be folded twice) and its QD-OLED panels.
New OLED gadget: Xiaomi MIX Fold 2
The MIX Fold 2, which is said to be the world's thinnest foldable phone, offers a 8.02" 2160x1914 foldable Eco2 POL-LESS LTPO 2 (1-120Hz) Samsung AMOLED display. The external display is a 6.56" 120Hz 2520x1080 Samsung AMOLED.

Other features include a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, 12 GB of RAM, 256/512/1024 GB of storage and a triple camera setup.
The MIX Fold 2 will ship on August 16 in China, starting at around $1,333.

DSCC: OLED panels shipments declined 3% in Q2 2022, but revenues increased 12%
DSCC says that in Q2 2022, OLED panel revenues increased 12% compared to Q2 2021, while shipment units declined 3%. Fewer OLEDs were shipped, but revenues increased as we've seen an increased growth in high value panels (gaming, monitors, laptops, automotive, etc) and also an improved form factor adoption in smartphones.
In Q2 2022, smartphones remained the largest OLED application with a 76% unit and revenue share. OLED smartwatches had a 16% unit share (and a 6% revenue share), and OLED TVs had a 11% revenue share (up from 8% in Q1 2022).
New OLED gadget: Oppo Watch 3 Pro
Oppo's Watch 3 Pro smartwatch uses a 1.91" 378x496 LTPO AMOLED display, a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and a heart rate and SpO2 sensors.

The Watch 3 Pro will ship by the end of August 2022, for about $275.
