New OLED gadget: JVC 9200
The JVC 9200 OLED TV series, available in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes, feature a WOLED 4K 120hz panel, Android TV OS, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.

The JVC 9200 is now shipping in Japan and most European countries.
Reports suggest BOE may start trial OLED TV production soon
At SID Displayweek 2022, BOE demonstrated a 95" 8K OLED TV display prototype. This was an impressive display, and reports suggested that BOE is considering to start producing such panels commercially.

According to a new report from Korea, BOE has indeed decided to initiate production of OLED TV panels. BOE plans to produce 300,000 panels in 2022, in sizes ranging from 55-inch to 95-inch.
LG Display raises $1 billion in debt to invest in its OLED module factory in Vietnam
LG Display announced that it has raised $1 billion in long-term loans from international banks, that will be invested in expanding its OLED module production line in Vietnam.

In September 2021 LGD announced it is set to expand its Hai Phong fab capacity to 13-14 million monthly units, in a $1.4 billion investment . It's not clear whether the new funds are an addition to that, or is this the funding for the 2021 announcement.
LG Chem starts supplying deuterium blue OLED emitters to LG Display
Last year LG Display unveiled its latest OLED TV technology, branded as OLED EX, which uses a deuterium-based blue emitter materials, that enabled that LG to increase brightness by up to 30%. These panels are now adopted in LG's higher-end OLED TV panels.

According to a report from Korea, the deuterium-based blue emitters were supplied to LGD by DuPont. But the company has also been working its affiliate LG Chem to develop the capabilities to produce a similar deuterium emitter, and now LG Chem is starting to supply some of these materials to LGD.
eMagin has been awarded with a $2.5 million US Army project to develop a direct-emission OLED microdisplay prototype
OLED microdisplay maker eMagin has been awarded a $2.5 million US Army contract towards a high-brightness, full-color direct-emission OLED microdisplay prototype project. The project includes the development of manufacturing process technologies

The prototype that eMagin will develop will be used in AR systems that provide both sensor and tactical data to soldiers.
APS Holdings to build an OLED microdisplay R&D production line, aims to reach 3000 PPI via FMM by 2023
In 2021 The Korean government launched a new project that aims to develop technologies for the production of OLED microdisplays for AR applications. The project is led by AP Systems (APS Holdings), and aims to produce a direct emission OLED microdisplay with a resolution of 4,000 PPI by 2024.
According to reports from Korea, APS Materials has managed to develop a 1,000 PPI FMM mask, and is now building a new R&D line that will be used to produce direct emission OLED microdisplays using FMM technology. The new APS production line will include OLED deposition and encapsulation.
BCDTEK sets out to construct a $970 million 12-inch OLED microdisplay fab in Huainan
OLED microdisplay developer BCDTEK is embarking on a new project to construct a 12-inch OLED microdisplay production site in Huainan, China. The new fab will have a production capacity of 20,000 monthly substrates.

The total investment in this new fab will reach 6.5 billion yuan (around $970 million USD). The company has raised funds from China Micro Semiconductor and Shanghai Wusheng Electronics.
Korea's supreme court ends a year-long battle between LG and Samsung over OLED encapsulation trade secrets leak
The Korean Supreme court put an end to a years-long legal battle between LG Display and Samsung Display, saying that SDC's employees and a chief executive of one of LG's suppliers are not guilty in IP theft.
The supreme court upheld the original ruling and dismissed the appeal. The case revolved around LGD's face seal encapsulation technology for OLED displays. The main issue in the legal case was whether leaked LGD documents were trade secrets. The employees and executives were first found guilty, but at a higher court they were found innocent as it was decided that the information was already widely known in the industry.
Apple finalizes its supply chain for the iPhone 14 AMOLED displays, starts ordering panels from BOE again
According to reports from Korea, Apple has started to sign agreements regarding the supply of OLED displays for the next iPhone model (iPhone 14). As always, the main supplier will be Samsung Display, which will supply 80 million units of its latest LTPO AMOLED display (M12 stack) to Apple.

Apple is set to release four iPhone models. The iPhone 14 (6.1-inch), 14 Plus (6.7-inch), 14 Pro (6.1-inch) and 14 Pro Max (6.7-inch).
