New OLED gadget: arpara

The arpara VR headset, which offers either tethered or non-tethered models based on Qualcomm's XR2 chipset, uses dual 1.03" 2560x2560 OLED microdisplays.

The arpara launched a kickstarter campaign towards the end of 2021, which was oversubscribed within one day.

New OLED gadget: Oppo Find N

Oppo's first foldable phone, the Find N, sports a 7.1-inch 120Hz LTPO 1792x1920 foldable AMOLED display (produced by SDC), in addition to a smaller 5.49" 1972x988 AMOLED on the cover.

Oppo says that the display cover has a unique design, made from 12 layers, to make it extra durable.

Other features include a Snapdragon 888 chipset, 8/12 GB of RAM, 256/512 GB of storage and a triple camera setup.

>The Oppo Find N will launch, in China only, by the end of 2021, we do not know the price yet.

Tianma extends its long-term material supply and license agreement with UDC

Universal Display announced that Tianma Micro-electronics has extended its long-term OLED material supply and license agreement. UDC will continue to supply Tianma with its phosphorescent OLED materials and technologies.

UDC did not disclose any more details or financial terms. The original agreement between Tianma and UDC was signed in 2016.

Sigmaintell: Asus is the leader in OLED laptop shipments, expects the market to continue its fast growth

Sigmaintell says that in 2021, Asus shipped 36% of all OLED laptops, and is the market leader. Asus is followed by Samsung (20%), Lenovo (16%), HP (10%), Xiaomi (8%) and Dell (8%).

In 2021, 5.3 million OLED laptops will ship (representing around 2% of the total laptop market). The main producer of these OLED panels is Samsung Display - who produces almost all laptop OLED panels. In 2020 SDC produced 800,000 units, and so shipments grew almost 7X in one year.

New OLED gadget: LG BP95E UltraFine Display OLED Pro

LG's 2022 range of professional monitors include the 32" 4K 32BP95E and the 27" 4K 27BP95E monitors. The monitors, which will likely again be based on JOLED's printed OLED panels, offer price lighting control, LG'sDisplayHDR400 True Black technology, detachable self-calibration sensors and monitor hoods.

LG's OLED Pro monitors ave six interfaces (2X Displayport, 1X HDMI and 3X USB) and support KVM. These are high-end broadcast quality monitors aimed for professional use.

LG did not yet disclose the price or availability of the 2022 OLED Pro monitors.
